Database Administration is today one of the most crucial tasks of the IT department. It is almost impossible to find an information system or an application that did not use database administration technologies to any extent.
Most server applications, especially distributed, use databases to store not only the user, but also the performance and configuration information. Therefore the database administration skills (especially Microsoft SQL Server) can help almost any IT professional to significantly improve performance efficiency and enhance one’s value in the labor market.
For a lot of users and application developers the ability to work with databases, to analyze and structure requests gives an opportunity to improve the overall efficiency when dealing with information, and to shorten the time spent for making the right business decisions.
So what are the tasks for database administration professionals? There are a lot of new and extremely important tasks: from providing distributed synchronization and high availability to virtualization and cloud applications. Another area of competence improvement: intelligent search technology, analysis and reporting (Business Intelligence, Data Mining, Smart Reporting).
Obtaining the necessary knowledge and skills to perform database administration, tasks related to planning, configuration and optimization of both the server software (DBMS) and structures, objects, and database queries.
The program is designed for
Professionals planning to design and manage databases on Microsoft SQL Server platform.
Obtained knowledge and skills will not only allow students to successfully perform complex production tasks, but will also allow to successfully prepare for certification exams for obtaining internationally recognized status of specialist and professional in database management: Microsoft SQL Server — Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist and Microsoft Certified IT Professional with the appropriate specialization.
